The event drew large crowds from the city of Koban\u00ee and delegations from across North and East Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sharvan Muslim, co-president of Koban\u00ee University, told North Press that the graduates completed programs in Kurdish and Arabic literature, computer science, mechanics, electricity, and technical studies, among other fields. \u201cThis is the largest graduating class since the university was established,\u201d Muslim said, noting the strong turnout from local residents and families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Muslim emphasized the university\u2019s mission to serve society by preparing students to work in institutions affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and civil society organizations. \u201cWe hope these graduates will contribute to their communities through public service and civic engagement,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The university began with modest numbers, graduating just 32 students in its first class in 2021. Since then, enrollment has steadily increased, reflecting growing demand for higher education in the region. According to Muslim, all graduates have found employment in either AANES institutions or private sector roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded on September 30, 2017, Koban\u00ee University initially launched with two faculties: the Faculty of Basic Sciences, offering programs in physics, chemistry, and mathematics; and the Faculty of Literature, which included Kurdish language and literature. The university\u2019s first graduating class included students from four departments: Kurdish literature, physics, chemistry, and mathematics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The graduation ceremony underscored the university\u2019s expanding role in fostering academic development and supporting the region\u2019s reconstruction efforts.
