{"id":131642,"date":"2025-10-30T14:41:58","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T14:41:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=131642"},"modified":"2025-10-30T14:42:00","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T14:42:00","slug":"syrian-government-denies-closure-of-al-bukamal-al-qaim-border-crossing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/131642\/","title":{"rendered":"Syrian government denies closure of al-Bukamal \u2013 al-Qaim border crossing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press)<\/strong> \u2013 The Syrian government confirmed on Thursday that the al-Bukamal \u2013 al-Qaim border crossing with Iraq remains fully operational, following reports of a temporary closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mazn Alloush, Director of Relations at the General Board of Land and Sea Crossings, told North Press: \u201cNo closure has occurred at the al-Bukamal \u2013 al-Qaim crossing, and movement continues normally and regularly on both sides.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier reports and media outlets suggested the crossing had been temporarily shut after Iraqi travelers were reportedly targeted on Syrian soil near the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alloush clarified that the incident involved a single Syrian citizen attacking an Iraqi vehicle within Syrian territory.
