The prison was reportedly used during the previous regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier, a similar underground prison was found in an agricultural area near the village of Abu Hakfa in northeastern Homs, where civilians had been detained, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Omar al-Mousa, Deputy Director of the al-Mukharram region, told state media that \u201cthe prison consists of an underground hideout secured by an iron door, containing foam mattresses, wool blankets, and torture instruments such as sticks and ropes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that the discovery occurred about ten days ago during routine police patrols inspecting suspicious sites in the area. Authorities also found books and printed materials aimed at militias supported by the former regime.
