{"id":130382,"date":"2025-09-30T05:55:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T05:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=130382"},"modified":"2025-09-30T05:55:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T05:55:12","slug":"sdf-captures-isis-cell-leader-in-deir-ez-zor-one-fighter-killed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/130382\/","title":{"rendered":"SDF captures ISIS cell leader in Deir ez-Zor, one fighter killed\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday that their units captured a leader of an Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cell during a military operation in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to an SDF <a href=\"https:\/\/sdf-press.com\/en\/?p=19330\">statement<\/a>, fighters from the Hajin Military Council clashed with the ISIS cell in the village of Daranj, east of Deir ez-Zor. The confrontation resulted in the injury and subsequent capture of the ISIS leader, described as a key figure in the group\u2019s local operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDF confirmed that one of its fighters was killed and two others were wounded in the clashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a separate incident, ISIS militants attempted to attack a security checkpoint in the nearby village of Burayha using motorcycles and machine guns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SDF forces repelled the assault, injuring one attacker and forcing the rest to withdraw.
