{"id":129693,"date":"2025-09-14T19:19:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-14T19:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=129693"},"modified":"2025-09-14T19:19:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-14T19:19:11","slug":"syrian-interior-ministry-seizes-large-weapons-cache-in-daraa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/129693\/","title":{"rendered":"Syrian Interior Ministry seizes large weapons cache in Daraa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press<\/strong>) \u2013 The Syrian Interior Ministry announced on Sunday the seizure of a large cache of weapons and ammunition in the countryside of Daraa, which were reportedly stolen from military depots during the fall of the former regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement, the ministry said that after receiving a report from a local resident about weapons hidden inside a house in the town of Nawa in Daraa countryside, the Internal Security Directorate carried out a raid that led to the discovery of the cache.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministry added that the confiscated weapons included a variety of ammunition and military equipment, prepared for illegal trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a related context, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) have previously carried out similar security operations, including one in Deir ez-Zor\u2019s eastern countryside that led to the arrest of ISIS cell members and the seizure of weapons and ammunition in their possession.
