ALEPPO, Syria (North Press)<\/strong> \u2013 Political parties organized pn Saturday a dialogue forum in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo under the title \u201cAfrin is Our Dignity, We Demand Return with Dignity,\u201d focusing on the safe return of Afrin residents displaced in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Human rights activists and members of the public attended the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manaf Jafar, a member of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood council, told North Press that participants emphasized the right of Afrin residents to return safely to their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReturning to Afrin is a natural, legal, and legitimate right,\u201d Jafar said. He added that the hardships, displacement, and humiliation faced by Afrin residents cannot be forgotten, as those forcibly displaced continue to face significant obstacles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also noted that residents who remained in Afrin face numerous difficulties under ongoing occupation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfrin, before the occupation, was a model of peaceful coexistence among Syria\u2019s diverse communities, including religious and ethnic minorities,\u201d Jafar  said, highlighting the importance of restoring stability and security to the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum concluded with calls for coordinated efforts to ensure that displaced families can return safely and with dignity, while advocating for protection of their rights and properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
