{"id":128747,"date":"2025-08-25T14:55:43","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T14:55:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=128747"},"modified":"2025-08-25T14:55:45","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T14:55:45","slug":"syria-demands-un-response-to-israeli-incursion-near-damascus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/128747\/","title":{"rendered":"Syria demands UN response to Israeli incursion near Damascus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Saad al-Yaziji<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press)<\/strong> \u2013 Syria\u2019s Foreign Ministry on Monday called on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to take urgent and effective measures against what it described as \u201cIsraeli violations and aggression\u201d on Syrian territory, following a large-scale military incursion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier the same day, Israeli forces carried out multiple incursions in Rural Damascus and Quneitra, conducting extensive searches in several locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Syrian Foreign Minister Asad al-Shibani accused Israel of breaching the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and UN Security Council resolutions by establishing intelligence centers and military posts in restricted zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement published on its official website, the ministry said, \u201cSyria strongly condemns the military incursion carried out by Israel in the Beit Jinn area of Rural Damascus , through a force of 11 military vehicles and nearly 60 soldiers, seizing Tal Bat al-Warda at the foot of Mount Hermon in blatant violation of Syria\u2019s sovereignty and unity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministry described the escalation as \u201cserious,\u201d warning it represents a direct threat to regional peace and security and reflects what it called Israel\u2019s \u201caggressive policy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The statement further noted that continued Israeli actions undermine efforts to stabilize the region and increase tensions across southern Syria.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Saad al-Yaziji DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Syria\u2019s Foreign Ministry on Monday called on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to take urgent and effective measures against what it described as \u201cIsraeli violations and aggression\u201d on Syrian territory, following a large-scale military incursion.
