{"id":128512,"date":"2025-08-21T09:04:57","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T09:04:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=128512"},"modified":"2025-08-21T09:05:13","modified_gmt":"2025-08-21T09:05:13","slug":"essential-supplies-blocked-from-kurdish-neighborhood-in-aleppo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/128512\/","title":{"rendered":"Essential supplies blocked from Kurdish neighborhood in Aleppo\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Foreign-backed factions are preventing the entry of diesel and flour into the Kurdish neighborhoods in Aleppo city in northwestern Syria, in clear violation of the agreement signed with the Syrian transitional government, an official said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ahmad Abdullah, co-deputy head of the Kurdish Neighborhood Council in Aleppo, told North Press that several provisions of the agreement\u2014particularly the third and eighth articles, which guarantee the movement of residents between Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods on one side and the other neighborhoods of Aleppo, in addition to the entry of essential goods\u2014have been breached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Early in April, Badran Chiya Kurd, a senior AANES official announced the signing of a broad administrative, security, and service agreement between the council of Kurdish neighborhoods in Aleppo and the transitional government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abdullah added that the obstruction of supplies through the Deir Hafer route from northeast Syria is being carried out by \u201cexternally funded factions who do not want the agreement to succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He urged the Damascus government to honor the agreement signed between Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and SDF Commander General Mazloum Abdi, stop the factions from violating its terms, and allow the entry of supplies into the Kurdish neighborhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also noted recent military movements around the neighborhoods, describing them as \u201cunjustified provocations,\u201d and reported drone activity. \u201cTwo days ago, a drone strike targeted an Asayish security checkpoint, injuring two of its members,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abdullah further reported that residents are being kidnapped outside the neighborhoods despite the agreement ensuring freedom of movement across Aleppo. \u201cUnknown groups are abducting people and taking them to undisclosed locations,\u201d he said, stressing the need for Damascus to put an end to such violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He indicated that meetings between the Council and government representatives overseeing the agreement are ongoing, but \u201cthe government\u2019s response has so far fallen short, particularly regarding repeated kidnappings of residents.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Nurradin Omar<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Foreign-backed factions are preventing the entry of diesel and flour into the Kurdish neighborhoods in Aleppo city in northwestern Syria, in clear violation of the agreement signed with the Syrian transitional government, an official said on Wednesday.
