Gen. Abdulaziz Hilal al-Ahmad, head of Internal Security in Latakia, said the grave was found near the village of Bustan al-Basha, north of Jableh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that it contained the remains of nine individuals buried in a farm once owned by a former regime air force officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the statement, the discovery followed security intelligence indicating the presence of a mass grave in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Specialized units from the Internal Security Directorate were dispatched to the site, where they uncovered a large pit inside farmland owned by Hassan Youssef Younes, a former air force brigadier general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Civil Defense teams retrieved the nine bodies, while criminal investigation units began documenting evidence and collecting information under the supervision of relevant security authorities, according to the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Malin Mohammed&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013 The Internal Security Directorate of the Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday the discovery of a mass grave in the countryside of Latakia, western Syria.
