The killing occurred on Sunday in the northern Aleppo city of Azaz, where Abu Bakr was shot by unidentified assailants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian Ministry of Interior, through spokesperson Nour al-Din al-Baba, said, \u201cThanks to God, and after significant efforts by the internal security leadership in Aleppo to identify the perpetrators of Farouq Abu Bakr\u2019s assassination, the assailant has turned himself in and confessed to the crime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to initial investigations, the killing appears to be motivated by personal revenge rather than organized political or militant activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Separately, al-Baba provided details on a recent explosion in Aleppo\u2019s al-Maysar neighborhood, clarifying that the perpetrator was a known drug user with a criminal record.
