She urged \u201cjoint efforts to safeguard forests and extend mutual assistance,\u201d emphasizing the importance of uncovering \u201cthe causes behind the repeated outbreak of these fires.\u201d She described the destruction of trees as \u201ca crime\u201d warranting accountability for those responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fires, which have been spreading rapidly due to strong winds, have engulfed large areas of forest in the Kassab region of Latakia\u2019s countryside, extending into the Shatha area in the al-Ghab Plain in Hama, and re-igniting in rural Jableh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a separate statement, the Qamishli Fire Brigade declared full readiness to respond to the call for assistance from residents of Kassab and surrounding areas. \u201cOur members will be present wherever duty calls, standing alongside communities in facing disasters and protecting lives and property,\u201d the brigade said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Syrian Civil Defense teams continue to work in multiple locations in Latakia\u2019s northern countryside, focusing on preventing the flames from reaching residential neighborhoods.
