Monday that their troops conducted overnight an operation in Quneitra Governorate, southern Syria, resulting in the arrest of an arms dealer in the village of Turnejeh.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operation, carried out by Brigade 226 with support from field investigators in Israeli Military Intelligence\u2019s Unit 504, followed intelligence leads and prior surveillance, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/liveblog_entry\/israeli-troops-arrested-arms-dealer-in-southern-syria-says-idf\/\">according to the IDF<\/a>. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The IDF added that the troops seized a quantity of weapons and military equipment during the raid, and the detainee is currently being interrogated as part of ongoing investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier that day, local sources told North Press that Israeli forces had withdrawn from the Quneitra countryside after detaining a young man, Kenan Bakr, during a raid and search of several homes in Turnejeh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the IDF indicated that its forces remain deployed in the area &#8220;to block the entrenchment of terrorist elements in Syria and safeguard residents of Israel, particularly in the Golan Heights.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3
