{"id":128126,"date":"2025-08-09T11:47:58","date_gmt":"2025-08-09T11:47:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=128126"},"modified":"2025-08-09T11:48:00","modified_gmt":"2025-08-09T11:48:00","slug":"syrian-government-rejects-ne-syria-conference-withdraws-from-paris-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/128126\/","title":{"rendered":"Syrian government rejects NE Syria conference, withdraws from Paris talks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>A source in the Syrian transitional government said on Saturday that the \u201cUnity of Communities\u201d conference was \u201ca blow to ongoing negotiation efforts\u201d and, as a result, the government will not take part in any upcoming meetings in Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to the state-run SANA news agency, the source stressed that the government \u201cwill not sit at the negotiating table with any party attempting to revive the era of the defunct regime under any name or guise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/128122\/\">conference<\/a> was held on Friday with wide participation from Arab tribal leaders, representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), and religious figures from northeastern Syria as well as from other parts of Syria. It issued a final statement calling for the drafting of a new democratic constitution that guarantees pluralism and fair political participation for all components of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source accused these parties of relying on external support to convene such conferences as a way to evade the requirements of the future and abandon the core principles of the Syrian state\u2014one army, one government, one country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He claimed the conference aimed to advance proposals that contradict the March 10 agreement\u2014including forming a nucleus of a new \u201cnational army,\u201d revisiting the constitutional declaration, and altering administrative divisions\u2014despite the agreement\u2019s clear stipulations to integrate all civil and military institutions in northeastern Syria into state institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Malin Mohammed<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013 A source in the Syrian transitional government said on Saturday that the \u201cUnity of Communities\u201d conference was \u201ca blow to ongoing negotiation efforts\u201d and, as a result, the government will not take part in any upcoming meetings in Paris.
