{"id":127868,"date":"2025-08-01T17:17:32","date_gmt":"2025-08-01T17:17:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=127868"},"modified":"2025-08-01T17:17:51","modified_gmt":"2025-08-01T17:17:51","slug":"landmine-blast-in-central-syria-leaves-one-dead-another-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/127868\/","title":{"rendered":"landmine blast in central syria leaves one dead, another injured"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Homs, Syria (North Press) &#8211; A young man was killed and his brother injured on Friday due to the explosion of a war remnant in the village of Jbab Hamd, located in the eastern countryside of Homs, central Syria, while they were working on farmland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An administrative source from the General Security Directorate told North Press that \u201cthe explosion occurred near the village of Jbab Hamd, approximately 35 kilometers east of Homs city.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source added that the explosion killed 19-year-old Mondher Shalash and injured his brother, Ubadah Shalash, as they were clearing rocks from an agricultural field in preparation for cultivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident was caused by a landmine left over from previous conflicts, the source confirmed, noting that this is part of a series of recurring explosions in various areas of Homs Governorate.
