KOBANI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> A group of Kurdish young men and women in Kobani, northern Syria, have launched a grassroots humanitarian campaign titled \u201cA Better Tomorrow for All Syrians\u201d, aimed at supporting families in the war-torn southern governorate of Suwayda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative comes in response to the recent wave of deadly violence that has swept Suwayda and its countryside since the beginning of July. The governorate has witnessed clashes between Druze factions and armed Bedouin groups, which escalated dramatically following the intervention of government forces. According to human rights reports, the violence has resulted in more than 2,000 casualties among all parties involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“No sect in humanitarian work”<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to North Press, campaign spokesperson and civil activist Mohammed Oso explained that the initiative seeks to collect financial donations and baby formula to assist children affected by the crisis in Suwayda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We, an independent, civilian group that includes intellectuals, lawyers, and doctors, launched this initiative under the slogan ‘A Better Tomorrow for All Syrians’,” Oso said. “We focus on collecting financial donations and infant formula for the children of Suwayda.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea for the campaign emerged after a group of Kobani youth met to discuss the deteriorating situation in Suwayda, which reminded many of their own city\u2019s ordeal during the ISIS siege of 2014. \u201cWe lived through similar horrors\u2014massacres, displacement, deprivation\u2014and we know what that pain feels like,\u201d Oso said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially planned to last just one week, the campaign has been extended due to growing community participation. Donations are being collected both at a central location in Kobani and through mobile outreach stations across the city. According to Oso, there are also communication channels between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and local contacts in Suwayda to facilitate the delivery of aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Wherever there is a need in Syria, we will strive to provide support,” Oso concluded. “We do not discriminate based on sect or background.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are ready to help all Syrians\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Activist Khalat Khalil, also from Kobani, stressed that the group\u2019s motivation stems from a shared experience of suffering. “We, the people of Kobani, wanted to offer support to our brothers and sisters in Suwayda because we too endured similarly harsh conditions back in 2014\u2014 at the hands of the Turkish occupiers who bombed Kobani, as well as from ISIS.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khalil expressed pride in seeing so many youth step up to volunteer and spread hope. \u201cGod willing, tomorrow will be better for all Syrians,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artists from Kobani have also joined the effort. Musician Saadoun Kobani noted that many in the city\u2019s creative community are contributing in any way they can. “This is an act of compassion, humanity, and shared emotion,” he said. “As artists, we support them through our work and with all we can offer.”  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizers of \u201cA Better Tomorrow for All Syrians\u201d believe the campaign reflects a powerful spirit of national solidarity\u2014one that transcends sectarian and political divisions. As they put it, this initiative is a reminder that, despite years of war and suffering, Syrians still have the will to stand together and build a more just and dignified future for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
