HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>Thirty-six Syrian families left on Wednesday the Hawl Camp in northeastern Syria, returning to their original areas in Aleppo, Idlib, Raqqa, and Tabqa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The return took place in coordination between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and the Syrian transitional government, under the auspices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks the third such convoy since the AANES’ decision on January 23 allowing the return of all Syrian nationals from the camps to their areas of origin, following the collapse of the al-Assad regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheikhmous Ahmad, co-chair of the AANES’ Refugees and Displaced Persons Office, told North Press that this convoy included 36 families\u2014127 individuals\u2014from the Raqqa, Aleppo, and Idlib regions, under UNHCR supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that coordination was carried out with humanitarian organizations and associations to oversee the transfer process. A new convoy is expected in the coming days, and they aim to continue working with the transitional government to fully evacuate the camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hussein Shallash, project coordinator at the Stabilization Support Unit in Syria, told North Press that today\u2019s convoy was the second to head toward northwestern Syria. It included families with special needs from Aleppo and Raqqa, among other areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that \u201cthis effort was carried out under an agreement between the Stabilization Support Unit and UNHCR, in coordination with the Syrian government and the Autonomous Administration, to provide immediate aid, basic services, and support in recovering lost official documents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In mid-June, the first convoy from Hawl to central Syria included 42 families, totaling 187 individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
