{"id":126898,"date":"2025-07-01T09:11:06","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T09:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=126898"},"modified":"2025-07-01T09:11:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T09:11:08","slug":"gunmen-attack-sdf-asayish-forces-in-deir-ez-zor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/126898\/","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen attack SDF, Asayish forces in Deir ez-Zor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Unidentified gunmen launched on Monday evening attacks targeting a checkpoint manned by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and a military vehicle belonging to the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incidents resulted in material damage only, with no reported casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A military source close to the SDF told North Press that two armed individuals on a motorcycle opened fire with automatic weapons at the &#8220;al-Rey&#8221; checkpoint, located on the outskirts of Shuhail town, east of Deir ez-Zor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the source, a brief armed clash followed the attack, forcing the assailants to retreat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exchange of fire caused no injuries, and damages were limited to property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a separate incident in the town of Abriha, also in the east of Deir ez-Zor, two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle fired at an Asayish military vehicle.
