{"id":126083,"date":"2025-05-26T08:58:31","date_gmt":"2025-05-26T08:58:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=126083"},"modified":"2025-05-26T08:58:32","modified_gmt":"2025-05-26T08:58:32","slug":"imf-mission-to-visit-syria-to-assess-institutional-needs-technical-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/126083\/","title":{"rendered":"IMF mission to visit Syria to assess institutional needs, technical support"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> An International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation will visit Syria this week to assess the state of key Syrian institutions, including the Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance, and statistical agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jihad Azour, Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the IMF, in comments to Asharq Al-Awsat, said that the purpose of the visit is to evaluate institutional needs and determine the type of technical support required, as part of preparations to establish a comprehensive cooperation framework focused on advisory services and capacity building for essential personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He noted that communication with Syrian officials began during the Conference for Emerging Market Economies held in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia, last February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There, IMF representatives met with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani.
