{"id":126017,"date":"2025-05-24T08:05:13","date_gmt":"2025-05-24T08:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=126017"},"modified":"2025-05-24T08:05:15","modified_gmt":"2025-05-24T08:05:15","slug":"sdf-foils-isis-attack-in-deir-ez-zor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/126017\/","title":{"rendered":"SDF foils ISIS attack in Deir ez-Zor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Saturday that they had thwarted an attack by an Islamic State (ISIS) cell on Friday evening in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/sdf-press.com\/en\/?p=19077\">statement<\/a> published on their official website, the SDF said, &#8220;Our forces successfully thwarted an ISIS terrorist attack targeting one of our military points in the town of Al-Bahra, Deir Ezzor\u2019s eastern countryside.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier on Friday evening, unidentified <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/126014\/\">gunmen<\/a> launched two separate attacks against SDF in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the statement, the attackers used a vehicle to approach the post and opened fire. However, SDF fighters returned fire and engaged the cell in a clash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Several terrorists were confirmed wounded, and the attacking vehicle fled the area,&#8221; the statement continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDF reported that two of its fighters sustained minor injuries during the clash.
