In recent months, rhetoric from both sides escalated, with mutual accusations and threats, particularly concerning operations in northern and southern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the unnamed Israeli source quoted by <em>Israel Hayom<\/em>, Israel reaffirmed its position that southern Syria must remain a demilitarized zone. This long-standing stance has been central to Israel\u2019s security strategy along its northern border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In parallel reporting, Israel\u2019s public broadcaster Kan noted that representatives from Ankara and Tel Aviv are set to resume direct talks on Thursday in Baku, Azerbaijan.
