{"id":125367,"date":"2025-05-04T11:59:22","date_gmt":"2025-05-04T11:59:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=125367"},"modified":"2025-05-04T11:59:24","modified_gmt":"2025-05-04T11:59:24","slug":"security-official-denies-mobilization-toward-syrias-suwayda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/125367\/","title":{"rendered":"Security official denies mobilization toward Syria&#8217;s Suwayda"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> An official with the General Security forces of the Syrian transitional government in Suwayda city, southern Syria, denied on Sunday reports of military convoys mobilizing to storm the city, calling the news baseless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to North Press, Amar al-Hariri, stated, \u201cThe road is currently closed, and anyone attempting to enter or leave the governorate is being turned back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He clarified that the presence of security forces in the village of al-Surah al-Kabira is aimed at \u201cfacilitating civilian movement and ensuring the safety of the road connecting the governorates of Damascus and Suwayda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Hariri urged Suwayda residents not to fall for \u201crumors about a potential incursion into the city,\u201d stressing the importance of maintaining calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He accused certain groups\u2014which he described as \u201cbiased and intent on inciting unrest\u201d\u2014of spreading disinformation on social media with the aim of destabilizing the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese parties thrive on chaos,\u201d he said, \u201cas they profit from the arms trade, human trafficking, and fuel smuggling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Hariri emphasized that the General Security forces remain open to receiving public complaints, noting that contact numbers have been distributed to most residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He concluded by calling on the people of Suwayda to \u201csee the bigger picture\u201d and strive to build \u201ca unified, free, democratic, just, and stable state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Ihsan Muhammad<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) \u2013 An official with the General Security forces of the Syrian transitional government in Suwayda city, southern Syria, denied on Sunday reports of military convoys mobilizing to storm the city, calling the news baseless.
