{"id":125235,"date":"2025-05-01T08:09:21","date_gmt":"2025-05-01T08:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=125235"},"modified":"2025-05-01T08:09:23","modified_gmt":"2025-05-01T08:09:23","slug":"calm-returns-to-druze-areas-in-damascus-following-deadly-clashes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/125235\/","title":{"rendered":"Calm returns to Druze areas in Damascus following deadly clashes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syrian (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Relative calm returned on Thursday to the town of Ashrafiyat Sahnaya and the city of Jaramana in Damascus countryside, following two days of violent unrest and armed clashes that left dozens dead and injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Wednesday, the Syrian transitional government announced it had reached an agreement with Druze community leaders and elders concerning the recent events in both Jaramana and Ashrafiyat Sahnaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Details of the agreement have not been made public, but it comes amid heightened concerns over escalating violence and instability in these areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rif Dimashq Governor Ammar al-Sheikh, during a press conference attended by North Press on Wednesday evening, commented on the recent unrest in Jaramana and Sahnaya in the south Damascus.
