{"id":125089,"date":"2025-04-28T11:09:47","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T11:09:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=125089"},"modified":"2025-04-28T11:09:49","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T11:09:49","slug":"sdc-reaffirms-commitment-to-community-initiatives-peace-in-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/125089\/","title":{"rendered":"SDC reaffirms commitment to community initiatives, peace in Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RAQQA, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>An official from the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) said on Monday that they are actively working on community initiatives to promote peace in Syria and to reject hatred and violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mahmoud al-Maslat, co-chair of the SDC, told North Press that the Council continues to launch initiatives aimed at fostering civil peace and encouraging dialogue among the diverse components of Syrian society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking on the sidelines of a dialogue seminar titled &#8220;Towards Promoting Community Dialogue,&#8221; al-Maslat said the SDC is leading peace efforts in coordination with regional tribes and community leaders, while also opening channels of communication with Syrian expatriates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He emphasized that the SDC had been the first to initiate negotiations with the transitional government in an effort to end the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Maslat also highlighted the critical role played by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in defeating the Islamic State (ISIS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We have already brought peace and were the ones who defeated ISIS in this region, sacrificing martyrs.
