The name of the targeted individual has not been disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The strike marks a significant escalation in hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, a powerful Lebanese group aligned with Iran. The southern suburbs of Beirut, known as a Hezbollah stronghold, have been the target of Israeli airstrikes in the past, particularly during periods of heightened regional conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the attack, calling it \u201ca dangerous escalation that violates Lebanon\u2019s sovereignty.\u201d He urged the international community to intervene and \u201chalt Israeli aggression.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe continued Israeli attacks necessitate mobilizing our allies and international partners to defend Lebanon\u2019s territorial integrity,\u201d Aoun said in a televised address.
