{"id":123427,"date":"2025-03-20T10:20:03","date_gmt":"2025-03-20T10:20:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=123427"},"modified":"2025-03-20T10:20:06","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T10:20:06","slug":"germany-reopens-embassy-in-syria-after-13-year-closure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/123427\/","title":{"rendered":"Germany reopens embassy in Syria after 13-year closure"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> German Special Envoy to Syria, Stefan Schneck, announced on Thursday the official reopening of the German Embassy in Syria, marking the end of a 13-year closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a post in Arabic on &#8220;X&#8221; platform, Schneck stated that German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock formally reopened the embassy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He wrote that they are pleased to work closely with all Syrians for a better Syria, while noting that due to limited staff, visa and consular services will continue to be handled from Beirut for the time being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Agence France-Presse, Baerbock is visiting Damascus today for the second time since the fall of the previous regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The German Press Agency reported that Baerbock will engage in talks with the transitional authorities and meet with representatives of civil society.
