The violence, which erupted in several areas, resulted in thousands of casualties and displaced civilians seeking safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Monday, the director of Jableh district, accompanied by local security officials, visited the Russian military base to meet with displaced civilians. According to the Syrian state-run SANA news agency, the visit aimed to reassure them of ongoing security efforts to stabilize the region and encourage those affected to return to their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SANA reported that officials briefed residents on the steps being taken to restore order, prevent further violence, and ensure basic services in affected areas. The meeting at Hmeimim was part of a broader effort by the Syrian government to address concerns over lingering security threats in coastal villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While state officials have urged displaced families to return, the volatile situation in parts of the coastal region has left many hesitant. Clashes between armed factions and attacks on security positions have created uncertainty, prompting Russia to reinforce its presence in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hmeimim Airbase, Russia\u2019s largest military installation in Syria, has played a pivotal role in Moscow\u2019s operations in the country.
