On Thursday, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa\u2019ar announced the dispatch of thousands of humanitarian aid packages to Druze communities in southern Syria, portraying Israel as a protector of the minority group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, Sheikh Tarif distanced the visit from any political motivations, emphasizing that &#8220;the Druze in Syria are proud Syrians and do not need external protection.&#8221; He also expressed hope that Syria\u2019s transitional government would adopt a more inclusive approach toward minorities, including Druze, Christians, Kurds, Bedouins, Yazidis, and Alawites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit comes amid shifting power dynamics in post-Assad Syria. The Druze community, concentrated in Suwayda and parts of Quneitra, has largely maintained an independent stance throughout the Syrian conflict.
