TARTUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> The Syrian Women\u2019s Council, a women\u2019s organization active in northern Syria and other regions, held on Monday a dialogue session in Tartus on the Syrian coast to discuss constitutional drafting and the role of women in building a new Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately 80 Syrian women, including feminist and human rights activists as well as representatives of associations and organizations, participated in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rihab Ibrahim, a coordinator from the Syrian Women\u2019s Council, highlighted the sensitive political climate following the fall of the Assad regime and stressed the importance of women maintaining their presence and playing an active role in shaping the country’s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Reem Othman, an official from the Children of Love Association, provided an overview of women\u2019s legal status in Syrian constitutions from 1950 to 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suhad Ali from the Sendyan Association discussed the challenges facing women’s participation in Syria\u2019s future and potential solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Syrian Women\u2019s Council concluded the session with a work plan and an initiative to organize similar dialogue sessions in other Syrian provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
