QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Two U.S. soldiers were injured during a joint operation with Iraqi forces in Iraq, which resulted in the deaths of several senior Islamic State (ISIS) leaders, an American spokesperson said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pentagon spokesperson Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder<\/a> said in a press briefing that both service members were in a stable condition and are receiving medical care for their injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My understanding is that both of them are in stable condition being treated for their injuries,” Ryder noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“CENTCOM and Iraqi security forces conducted a partner raid in Iraq, targeting several senior ISIS leaders. The raid resulted in the death of multiple ISIS operatives.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryder did not disclose details on how they were injured or their current location for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia\u2019 al-Sudani announced on Tuesday that Iraqi forces killed nine prominent ISIS leaders<\/a> in northern Iraq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al-Sudani stated in a post on X platform that Iraqi forces killed the so-called \u201cWali of Iraq\u201d and eight senior ISIS leaders during an operation in the Hamrin Mountains in northern Iraq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
