{"id":116502,"date":"2024-09-01T06:54:16","date_gmt":"2024-09-01T06:54:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=116502"},"modified":"2024-09-01T06:54:18","modified_gmt":"2024-09-01T06:54:18","slug":"no-withdrawal-of-u-s-forces-from-syria-american-diplomat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/116502\/","title":{"rendered":"No withdrawal of U.S. forces from Syria \u2013 American diplomat"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>A U.S. diplomat said on Saturday the United States has no intention to withdraw its military forces from Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ethan Goldrich, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, said in an interview with the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.aawsat.com\/interviews\/5056212-goldrich-asharq-al-awsat-no-us-withdrawal-syria\">Asharq Al-Awsat<\/a> newspaper that the U.S. is committed to the partnership that they have with the local forces that they work with, in an indication to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Goldrich emphasized that the U.S.&#8217; priority is to prevent the Islamic State group (ISIS) from regaining power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Our focus is on the mission that we have there to keep ISIS from reemerging,&#8221; Goldrich stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, he added that they remain committed to providing humanitarian aid in Syria, but expressed a desire for a larger solution to the crisis so that Syrians can eventually support themselves without needing aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He pointed out that the U.S will not normalize relations with the Syrian government until there is a genuine and lasting progress on the objectives of U.N.
