{"id":115584,"date":"2024-07-24T07:01:22","date_gmt":"2024-07-24T07:01:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=115584"},"modified":"2024-07-24T07:01:24","modified_gmt":"2024-07-24T07:01:24","slug":"amnesty-calls-on-aanes-to-release-iraqi-prisoners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/115584\/","title":{"rendered":"Amnesty calls on AANES to release Iraqi prisoners"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Amnesty International on Tuesday called on the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) to release Iraqi individuals in its prisons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The organization called for the AANES to expand the amnesty law it had granted to include the Iraqis prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This came following a general amnesty granted by the AANES on July 17, for offenses related to terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the amnesty law, the AANES released a number of Syrian prisoners in the cities of Qamishli, Hasakah and Manbij. It is scheduled that about 1,500 prisoners will be released by the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Amnesty International urged the United Nations to coordinate with the AANES and the U.S.-led Global Coalition to investigate and prosecute the individuals who committed crimes under domestic and international laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also called for releasing &#8220;children and victims of trafficking.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are about 28.725 Iraqi individuals in Hawl Camp in Northeast Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Jwan Shekaki<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Amnesty International on Tuesday called on the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) to release Iraqi individuals in its prisons.
