AFRIN, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> A faction of the Turkish-backed armed opposition, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), is demanding people in Afrin in northwestern Syria to provide property ownership documents issued by the Syrian government or face seizure, an exclusive source said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The source told North Press that Saif Abu Bakr, a leader of the Hamza Division ordered the confiscation of agricultural lands and olive trees in the village of Muske in the northwest of Afrin from people who do not have government-issued ownership documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abu Bakr issued the order through its so-called economic office demanding the documents to be issued by the government real estate and agricultural offices in Aleppo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The source added that Hamza Division does not recognize ownership documents issued by the Turkish-run local councils in Afrin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The local council was found by Turkey to run the region after its occupation by Turkish forces and SNA factions in March 2018 following a military operation dubbed “Olive Branch” that aimed at pushing away the Kurdish People\u2019s Protection units (YPG) under the pretext of protecting the “Turkish national security.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the faction informed more than 10 widowed women in the village to bring ownership documents from institutions of the “Syrian regime” in Aleppo within a month or otherwise have their property seized, according to the source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
