{"id":114996,"date":"2024-06-30T06:27:01","date_gmt":"2024-06-30T06:27:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=114996"},"modified":"2024-06-30T06:27:04","modified_gmt":"2024-06-30T06:27:04","slug":"turkey-deports-16500-syrian-refugees-in-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/114996\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkey deports 16,500 Syrian refugees in June\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>Turkish authorities deported in June 16,500 Syrians through border crossings between Syrian and Turkey, North Press correspondent reported on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During June, the Turkish authorities deported 16,500, including more than 3,300 women and children through Bab al-Hawa, Bab al-Salamah, Jarablus, and Tel Abyad border crossings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This marks an escalation in the pace of deportation under the so-called \u201cvoluntary return.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An official in the border crossings administration, affiliated with the Syrian opposition, said all those deported people were forcibly removed after their residence documents in Turkey were completely revoked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deported people numbers by the crossing are 8,000 through Bab al-Hawa crossing, 4,200 through the Bab al-Salamah crossing, 3,500 through Jarablus crossing, and 800 Syrians were deported through Tel Abyad crossing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Human Rights Watch (HRW) accused Turkey of forcible deportation of the Syrians from its territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The HRW confirmed on June 27 that while <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/114965\/\">parts of Syria have not had active conflict hostilities since 2018<\/a>, Syria remains unfit for safe and dignified refugee returns.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/112629\/\">report<\/a> issued in March, the HRW said Turkey is forcibly deporting Syrian refugees to Tel Abyad where they face deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
