{"id":114896,"date":"2024-06-24T06:59:55","date_gmt":"2024-06-24T06:59:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=114896"},"modified":"2024-06-24T06:59:58","modified_gmt":"2024-06-24T06:59:58","slug":"isis-seizes-weapons-shipment-in-syrian-desert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/114896\/","title":{"rendered":"ISIS seizes weapons shipment in Syrian Desert"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HOMS, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> The Islamic State (ISIS) seized on Sunday a shipment of weapons of the Syrian government forces in the Syrian Desert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ISIS militants attacked a patrol of the government forces and seized vehicles loaded with weapons, ammunition and logistics near the city of Palmyra in the Syrian Desert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A military source of the government forces said the ISIS militants ambushed the military patrol of the government forces near Palmyra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ambush led to the eruption of mutual clashes between the two parties that forced the soldiers of the government forces to flee leaving behind the weapons shipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government&#8217;s patrol was heading from a headquarters of the Division 26 of the Air Forces in the city of Palmyra to T4 military base in the countryside of the city, according to the source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian Desert occupies approximately half of Syria\u2019s territory, covering an area of 80,000 square kilometers.
