{"id":114496,"date":"2024-06-05T08:51:30","date_gmt":"2024-06-05T08:51:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=114496"},"modified":"2024-06-05T08:51:33","modified_gmt":"2024-06-05T08:51:33","slug":"ukraine-sends-special-forces-to-fight-russian-backed-militants-in-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/114496\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine sends special forces to fight Russian-backed militants in Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Ukraine sends special forces units to Syria to fight against Russian-backed militants, Kyiv Post reported on Monday June 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kyiv Post, a newspaper in Ukraine, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kyivpost.com\/post\/33695\">obtained exclusive videos<\/a> from sources within Ukraine&#8217;s Military Intelligence Directorate (HUR) showing Ukrainian special forces and armed Syrian opposition factions attacking Russian-backed militants in southern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russia became involved in the conflict in Syria in 2015 with the goal of supporting the Syrian government against the opposition. As a result, thousands of Russian-backed militants are now stationed in Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russia, due to its long presence in Syria, has established several centers to recruit Syrian militants to send them to fight in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The video, which is dated March 2024, shows the HUR special squad called &#8220;Khimik&#8221; working with the armed opposition factions to attack Russian checkpoints, posts, and patrols in southern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An unidentified HUR source told the newspaper that since early 2024 Ukrainian forces have helped the opposition factions in several attacks against Russian military facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Ster Youssef<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Ukraine sends special forces units to Syria to fight against Russian-backed militants, Kyiv Post reported on Monday June 3.
