{"id":114173,"date":"2024-05-24T17:00:53","date_gmt":"2024-05-24T17:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=114173"},"modified":"2024-05-24T17:00:55","modified_gmt":"2024-05-24T17:00:55","slug":"8th-brussels-conference-on-syria-to-take-place-on-may-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/114173\/","title":{"rendered":"8th Brussels conference on Syria to take place on May 27"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>The 8<sup>th<\/sup> edition of the Ministerial Brussels Conference on &#8220;Supporting the future of Syria and the region&#8221; will take place in Brussels on Monday, May 27, the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations announced on Friday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It said that the&nbsp;Ministerial meeting&nbsp;will see the participation of&nbsp;representatives from the EU Member States, Syria&#8217;s neighboring States, and third countries, as well as representatives from the United Nations, international organizations, and Syrian civil society.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The High Representative\/Vice-President&nbsp;<strong>Josep&nbsp;Borrell<\/strong>&nbsp;will co-chair the conference on behalf of the European Union (EU), together with Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Oliv\u00e9r&nbsp;<strong>V\u00e1rhelyi<\/strong>, and Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez&nbsp;<strong>Lenar\u010di\u010d<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministerial section of the Conference, preceded by the \u2018Day of the Dialogue&#8217; on 30 April, aims to mobilize vital financial support in order to address the most pressing needs of Syrians and their host communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also aims to renew the international community&#8217;s support for a political solution in line with U.N. Security Council Resolution 2254.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2017, the EU has been organizing an annual conference in Brussels to support the future of Syria.
