{"id":112911,"date":"2024-04-06T06:18:41","date_gmt":"2024-04-06T06:18:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=112911"},"modified":"2024-04-06T06:18:42","modified_gmt":"2024-04-06T06:18:42","slug":"irish-troops-arrive-home-from-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/112911\/","title":{"rendered":"Irish troops arrive home from Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Over 130 Irish troops arrived on Friday home from Syria after ten years of peacekeeping by the armed forces in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The withdrawal represents the last of the Irish troops in Syria, as the Defense Forces ends its peacekeeping mission in the Golan Heights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) was established in May 1974 following the agreed disengagement of the Israeli and Syrian forces in the Golan.
