Gen. Pat Ryder said at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/News-Stories\/Article\/Article\/3666229\/strikes-against-iran-backed-militias-had-good-effects-pentagon-spokesman-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">news conference<\/a>, &#8220;Although we continue to evaluate, we currently assess that we had good effects.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Feb. 2, <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/110783\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">U.S. forces launched airstrikes<\/a> on seven facilities of Iranian-backed militias in Syria and Iraq in response to a drone attack on Tower 22 base in northeast Jordan on Jan. 28. The attack resulted in the killing of three American soldiers and the injury of 40 others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The strikes destroyed or functionally damaged more than 80 targets at the seven facilities,&#8221; Ryder said, adding, &#8220;The number of casualties is still being assessed.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, North Press obtained the names of sixteen individuals, all of whom are <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/110816\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Iranian-backed militants killed<\/a> in the airstrikes in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ryder stressed this is the beginning of the U.S. response.
