{"id":110786,"date":"2024-02-03T06:25:21","date_gmt":"2024-02-03T06:25:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=110786"},"modified":"2024-02-03T06:25:22","modified_gmt":"2024-02-03T06:25:22","slug":"u-s-retaliates-strikes-iranian-backed-sites-in-syria-iraq-biden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/110786\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. retaliates, strikes Iranian-backed sites in Syria, Iraq &#8211; Biden"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>U.S. President stated on Friday American forces targeted facilities of militias backed by Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in Syria and Iraq in retaliation for the killing of&nbsp; three soldiers in Jordan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joe Biden said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/02\/02\/statement-from-president-joe-biden-on-u-s-military-operation-in-the-middle-east\/\">statement<\/a>, &#8220;At my direction, U.S. military forces struck targets at facilities in Iraq and Syria that the IRGC and affiliated militia use to attack U.S. forces.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Late on Friday, North Press correspondent reported that U.S. airstrikes launched in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria, killed at least six individuals, including three Iraqis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Biden pointed out the United States does not want conflict in the Middle East or anywhere else, but warned,&#8221; If you harm an American, we will respond.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that this is the beginning and there will be additional responses at times and places of their choosing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said their forces targeted more than 85 targets &#8220;with numerous aircraft to include long-range bombers flown from United States.
