{"id":110741,"date":"2024-02-01T10:36:41","date_gmt":"2024-02-01T10:36:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=110741"},"modified":"2024-02-01T10:36:42","modified_gmt":"2024-02-01T10:36:42","slug":"u-s-says-iranian-militia-carried-out-jordan-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/110741\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. says Iranian militia carried out Jordan attack"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> The White House said on Wednesday that the U.S. intelligence was certain that the so-called Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an Iranian-affiliated group, was responsible for the attack of Tower 22 U.S. base in Jordan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">White House national security spokesman John Kirby reiterated at the daily White House press briefing that his country will respond, saying, &#8220;We&#8217;ll respond on our own time, on our own schedule, and we&#8217;ll do that.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Jan. 28, three U.S. troops were killed and 34 others were injured in a one-way drone attack that hit an American base in northeastern Jordan, near the Syrian border, said the U.S. Central Command in a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.centcom.mil\/MEDIA\/PRESS-RELEASES\/Press-Release-View\/Article\/3658552\/update-us-casualties-in-northeast-jordan-near-syrian-border\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press release<\/a>. Hours after the attack, Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joe Biden said on Jan. 28 following the attack, \u201cWe will carry on their commitment to fight terrorism.
