{"id":110592,"date":"2024-01-29T06:49:08","date_gmt":"2024-01-29T06:49:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=110592"},"modified":"2024-01-29T06:49:09","modified_gmt":"2024-01-29T06:49:09","slug":"russian-official-says-his-country-u-s-have-no-dialogue-on-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/110592\/","title":{"rendered":"Russian official says his country, U.S. have no dialogue on Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>Russian Special Envoy for Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, said on Monday that Russia and the U.S. do not have dialogue on Syria at the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, contacts are maintained, but only through this mechanism between the commander of Russian group in Syria and the command of the US-led Global Coalition, Lavrentiev said in an <a href=\"https:\/\/tass.com\/politics\/1738487\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interview with TASS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The deconflict mechanism between Russia and the U.S. in Syria is in effect,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lavrentiev added that Russia will hold the next summit in the Astana format on Syria on its territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/110509\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">21<sup>st<\/sup> round<\/a> of Astana format took place on Jan. 24-25 with the participation of Russia, Iran, and Turkey, as well as the U.N., Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq as observers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through Astana, Russia seeks to exert continuous pressure on the U.S. to withdraw from Syria and extend the government control in Damascus over the entire Syrian geography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Emma Jamal<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Russian Special Envoy for Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, said on Monday that Russia and the U.S. do not have dialogue on Syria at the moment.
