{"id":108590,"date":"2023-12-11T12:33:43","date_gmt":"2023-12-11T12:33:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=108590"},"modified":"2023-12-11T12:33:45","modified_gmt":"2023-12-11T12:33:45","slug":"aanes-starts-measures-to-provide-syrias-raqqa-with-electricity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/108590\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>AANES starts measures to provide Syria&#8217;s Raqqa with electricity<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RAQQA, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Raqqa Civil Council, affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), announced on Sunday a tender to supply electrical materials after signing a memorandum of understanding with U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to provide the city of Raqqa, north Syria, with electricity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently, the Raqqa Civil Council signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the electric power sector with the USAID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tender includes supplying electrical materials for the Energy Committee affiliated with the AANES to rehabilitate ten centers in Raqqa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The center of Raqqa suffers from the lack of national grid electricity in all neighborhoods due to the infrastructure damage caused by battles to expel the Islamic State (ISIS) militants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hamid al-Lawash, Co-chairman of the Energy Committee, mentioned that the electrification rate to the city&#8217;s neighborhoods does not exceed 70 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that the obstacles to electrification and power network extension are the high costs of materials used in the rehabilitation of infrastructure, in addition to budget constraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He noted that the limited hours of power supply, due to the reduced electricity generation from dams caused by the low level of the Euphrates River, play a significant role in not providing the electrical power to the city&#8217;s neighborhoods, as the current capacity of power does not cover all the centers operating currently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Ahmad Othman<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RAQQA, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Raqqa Civil Council, affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), announced on Sunday a tender to supply electrical materials after signing a memorandum of understanding with U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to provide the city of Raqqa, north Syria, with electricity.
