{"id":105803,"date":"2023-10-07T19:36:13","date_gmt":"2023-10-07T19:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=105803"},"modified":"2023-10-07T19:36:15","modified_gmt":"2023-10-07T19:36:15","slug":"aanes-halts-rehabilitation-process-for-isis-children-in-ne-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/105803\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>AANES halts rehabilitation process for ISIS children in NE Syria<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RAQQA, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> The Bureau of Justice and Reform affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced, on Saturday, the suspension of the rehabilitation process targeting children of Islamic State (ISIS) militants, amid the Turkish military escalation against northeastern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement, the Bureau of Justice and Reform halted operations at Hori and Urkish Centers, specialized in rehabilitating children of ISIS militants, in consideration of the safety of professionals working in this field until further notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The statement considered that Turkish attacks have serious repercussions and will provide an opportunity for ISIS militants to launch attacks on the rehabilitation centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Oct. 5, the Turkish army launched drone strikes on infrastructure facilities in several areas of north and northeast Syria that is run by the AANES. The strikes took place following a statement by Turkey\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, in which he threatened to strike a broader range of targets in Syria and Iraq in retaliation for the Ankara attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Oct. 1, two individuals carried out a bomb attack in front of the building of the Ministry of Interior in Turkey\u2019s Ankara injuring two police officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Oct. 4, Fidan claimed that the two attackers had been trained in Syria. \u201cFrom now on, all infrastructure, large facilities and energy facilities belonging to (armed Kurdish groups) in Iraq and Syria are legitimate targets for our security forces,\u201d he threatened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Oct. 1, an official from the Civil Council of Raqqa announced that the AANES is planning to open a <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/105398\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rehabilitation<\/a> and social care center to cater to those who left Hawl Camp, as well as the elderly, widows, and war-affected individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3
