MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>Women groups denounced on Sunday a Turkish drone attack against two fighters of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) who participated in fighting against the Islamic State (ISIS) in the city of Manbij, northern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The condemnation was made in a statement in front of the headquarters of the Zanobia Women’s Assembly in the city. The event was attended by multiple feminists and representatives from the Executive Council of Manbij, which is affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, the Manbij Military council, affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), announced that three YPJ fighters were killed by a Turkish drone attack on their vehicle in the countryside of Manbij.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The groups strongly condemned the continuous Turkish drone attacks and particularly the recent ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nisreen Hassan, a member of the Zanobia Women’s Assembly, stated that the assembly condemns the targeting of the three female fighters who had fought against ISIS and were present on the frontlines to defend the areas of North and East Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added, \u201cWe call the international community to stand up against the Turkish attacks on the civilians and military units.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 17, people of the city of Manbij mourned<\/a> the three YPJ fighters who were killed by a Turkish drone strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
