{"id":102546,"date":"2023-08-12T12:04:08","date_gmt":"2023-08-12T12:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=102546"},"modified":"2023-08-12T12:04:11","modified_gmt":"2023-08-12T12:04:11","slug":"dispensary-in-syrias-manbij-camps-requires-medicine-amid-severe-lack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/102546\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Dispensary in Syria&#8217;s Manbij camps requires medicine amid severe lack<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>Administrator of the dispensary in the old and new Manbij camps called on Saturday on humanitarian and medical organizations to supply the camps with all kinds of medicine amid severe lack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lack of medical support and medicine portend the deterioration of health conditions inside the aforementioned two camps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amal Muhammad, administrator in the dispensary, said that the health situation in the camp is extremely bad, especially with the high summer temperatures and spread of diseases like &#8220;diarrhea, vomiting, and intestinal inflammation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sole dispensary in both camps is under pressure due to receiving patients beyond its capacity amid deteriorating living and health conditions, according to Muhammad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new eastern Manbij camp houses 625 families, including 3,395 individuals from government-held areas of Maskanah and Dayr Hafir in eastern Aleppo, while the old eastern camp houses 387 families, including 1,795 individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Muhammad pointed out absence of humanitarian organizations that support the dispensary, which is in desperate need of medications for &#8220;children, blood pressure, diabetes, and asthma.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Camps in Manbij suffer from lack of health and food support in addition to lack of tents and thermal insulators making the IDPs at risk of direct exposure to sunlight and extreme heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The administrator told North Press that the Health Committee of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) supports the dispensary according to available resources. They reduce drug rations of other dispensaries to support the Manbij dispensary in both camps due to the dense human population. However the assistance of the Health Committee does not cover the IDPs need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The AANES was first formed in 2014 in the Kurdish-majority regions of Afrin, Kobani and Jazira in northern Syria following the withdrawal of the government forces.
