QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A civilian was injured in the Allaya neighborhood of the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria on Thursday due to a shell that was probably fired by a Turkish drone, military sources said.
The shell fell on a building of a fuel company resulted to the injury of a 40-year-old man, according to a source from the Internal Security Forces (Asayish).
The source added that the injured man was taken to Martyr Khabat Hospital in Qamisli city.
Local sources in the neighborhood said it was a Turkish drone as the residents saw it coming from the Turkish side of the border several times few hours ago before the bombing.
Last month, 20 civilians injured in a Turkish drone strike on Mahata Qadima neighborhood in Qamishli.
Since the Turkish incursions on northern Syria in 2018 on Afrin and 2019 on Serekaniye and Tal Abyad, the border towns of Kobani, Dirbesiye, Amuda, Qamishli and Derik have encountered intermittent drone strikes coming from the Turkish side.
