IDLIB, Syria ( North Press) – Fearing of being targeted, a Russian-Turkish joint patrol was conducted on Tuesday on the M4 highway, headed by Turkish forces.
Russian and Turkish forces conducted a joint patrol in the south of Idlib countryside. The patrol vehicles started from Ternaba town in the east of Saraqeb towards the countryside of Latakia.
A land mine exploded near the joint patrol' track, near Ariha city causing no damages.
A local source told North Press that Turkish forces burst the land mine, before the arrival of the patrol.
Turkish forces deployed on M4 highway, in order to protect the patrol.
Russian and Turkish forces conducted on Tuesday a military joint patrol on M4 highway, which reached for the first time to Bedama town north Jesser Shugour city in the south of Idlib.
Since the implementation of Russian Turkish agreement to conduct joint observatory patrols from March 15th , this patrol is the 20th, which is the only patrol that travelled the longest track, the source told North Press.
The source clarified that this patrol came close to the end of the track, in Ain Hour in the countryside of Latakia, which is the end point that they agreed on.
