MANBIJ – Syria (North Press) - 6 civilians from the village of al-Tokhar al-Kabir in the northern countryside of Manbij, northern Syria, which is under the control of Turkish-backed armed groups, were injured on Tuesday as a result of clashes between residents of the village and members of the groups after a girl from the village was assaulted.
Local sources from the neighboring village of al-Tokhar al-Saghir told North Press that members of the opposition groups present in the village shot civilians, injuring 6 of them, and fire broke out in agricultural fields in the village. All roads leading to the village were also closed.
According to the sources, the residents of al-Tokhar al-Kabir village burned the groups' headquarters after taking it over.
These areas witness a state of security chaos that often leads to clashes among Turkish-backed groups, in light of their continued violations against civilians, which led to an increase in resentment and calls for the expulsion of these groups from the cities.
