Hasakah – North-Press Agency
On Thursday, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) detained hundreds of young men as a result of their lack of commitment to the Autonomous Administration's decision of imposed quarantine, according to what a security source from the Asayish told North-Press.
The source, who preferred not to be named, said that the violators will be detained for some hours in order to alert them to the dangers of coronavirus and to clarify the importance of adhering to the declared ban.
The Internal Security Forces intensified their patrols within the city of Hasakah in northeastern Syria after multiple violations were seen in different neighborhoods of the city.
The source pointed out that they have taken additional measures to control the violations, including bringing in special security forces known as "HAT" to conduct patrols on Friday.
The co-chair of the Interior Authority in the al-Jazira region, Kanaan Barakat, spoke about taking additional measures to confront coronavirus after the violations took place in the first days of the ban.
The Health Authority in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria appeals to the population to obey the imposed quarantine, in order to avoid infection with coronavirus, as the authority confirms that no infections have been recorded in its areas so far.
