The town of Hajin in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor witnessed a remarkable commitment to the lockdown decision issued by the Autonomous Administration as a precautionary measure to confront the threat of the outbreak of coronavirus.
A North-Press reporter observed the movement of the streets and markets in the town, which seemed almost suspended except for the deployment of medical teams, municipal employees, first aid, water transport tanks, and food distribution vehicles, as well as pharmacies, vegetable and foodstuff stores.
The town of Hajin and a number of other towns committed to the lockdown decision on March 23rd, coinciding with the first anniversary of its liberation from the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS), which had fortified itself in al-Baghouz camp as the last stronghold of its caliphate, before the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with support of the U.S.-led Global Coalition forces ended its control.
It is worth mentioning that the towns of Hajin, Sousah and al-Baghouz are still suffering from lack of services and destruction of the infrastructure, despite the passage of one year since their liberation, which caused some of the residents of these areas to not return, according to what local sources had earlier confirmed to North-Press.
